There is something about home that often makes it the best place for healing. At First Call our goal is to help you remain in your home for as long as possible while maintaining the highest quality of life.

Studies show that there is a clear improvement in patient’s recovery following a problem when their social, emotional and spiritual needs are met. That’s why our no-cost holistic care program is an essential complement to our clinical services. In fact it’s at the very heart of what we do.

Holistic Service Summary:

• Pre-visit phone call- we call all patients prior to our services beginning to answer any questions the patient might have and to start getting a better idea of the patients needs.

• Home visit- Our holistic specialist, as part of the care team, makes a No-Cost home visits to determine the patients social, emotional and spiritual needs. The holistic specialist helps to develop a plan of action to address those needs. Families and caregivers are always kept informed and involved in the process.

• Coordination of services- Our holistic specialist helps facilitate (via phone calls, emails and in- person visits) successful implementation of the plan of action.

• Resource expertise- We use the extensive and diversified resource network we have developed to help meet our patients’ needs.

• Mental health counseling- We have partnered with Infocus Counseling to provide in-home and outpatient counseling for all mental health issues (grief, loss, depression, etc.)

Our holistic specialist personally contacts patients to introduce them to our in-home services before the service begins and answers their questions. This is followed by a no-cost personal visit to meet the patient and in some cases the family members. A deeper understanding of their needs is carefully noted followed by the development of a plan of action.

Once the clinician begins making their in-home visits, they keep the holistic specialist informed of any patient and/or family needs. The holistic specialist coordinates and directs patients to available community services as needed, makes follow-up calls, finds services to meet family needs and directs caregivers to support groups and other needed information.

In this ever changing computer driven world, our holistic program is helping people sort out the confusing maze of:

-What happens to me now that I am at home?
-Who will take care of me?
-Who will fix meals and bring us food and groceries?
-How will the laundry get done?
-Who can I call for help?

We have found that patients and family prefer to have a support person to call rather than a number to dial with their questions and concerns.
